One Merrimac Street, Boston, MA.

Located at a prominent intersection between Boston’s Government Center and North Station’s Bulfinch Triangle – this 4000 square foot site commands a larger presence in the City’s psyche than its small footprint might suggest. Over 35,000 vehicles and pedestrians pass by the site daily—more than 9,000,000 people per year, according to the Boston Transportation Department--  making this one of Boston’s busiest corners.

In 2013, Dinosaur received permits and constructed this sustainable development that reuses an urban brownfield – the site of a former gas station—as a retail kiosk and state-of-the-art electric vehicle charging station and parking facility. Designed with cost-effective sustainability in mind, the project includes a visually compelling retail kiosk that heralds the site’s unique use. The kiosk houses a TD Bank ATM and Cuppa Coffee, an Australian cafe. Twelve electric vehicle chargers accommodate the charging needs of early electric vehicle adopters.   Enclosed bicycle parking is provided on site. A state of the art ground water management system recharges all storm water on site.  One Merrimac Street replaced a 20th century petroleum-based filling station with an environmentally-conscious 21st century electric charging station and high visibility retail.
